Was just playing around with the ipa-backup scripts for a client. Ran ipa- backup, and the backup was successfully placed in /var/lib/ipa/backup/ipa- full-2016-07-02-11-54-58. Went to view ipa-full.tar, and discovered it's actually a tar.gz file. This is FreeIPA 4.2.0 on CentOS 7.
