Summary: ipmidetectd host aliases Project: GNU FreeIPMI Submitter: None Submitted: Tue 29 Nov 2022 01:51:29 PM UTC Category: ipmidetectd Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: GNU/Linux _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue 29 Nov 2022 01:51:29 PM UTC By: Anonymous Description of problem: When using ipmidetectd it is sometimes helpful to have the IPMI interface aliased to the host it manages. This lets folks focus in on hostname they are addressing for some of the mass commands. For example, if `wopr1` is managed via `pwopr1`, it would be nice if I could alias `wopr1` under ipmidetectd to `pwopr1`. There may be some benefits here along side dual stack systems (IPv4 and IPv6) as well. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?63441> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
