Hello all,

Free Software Foundation defines, which software licenses are considered
GPL compatible in order to prevent uncontrolled linking of non GPL
modules with the GPL modules. The copyright holders of the program are
however allowed to change the program license by introducing following
exception clause here:

"In addition, as a special exception, the copyright holders of ABC give
you permission to combine ABC program with free software programs or
libraries that are released under the GNU LGPL and with code included in
the standard release of DEF under the XYZ license (or modified versions
of such code, with unchanged license). You may copy and distribute such
a system following the terms of the GNU GPL for ABC and the licenses of
the other code concerned, provided that you include the source code of
that other code when and as the GNU GPL requires distribution of source
code.

Note that people who make modified versions of ABC are not obligated to
grant this special exception for their modified versions; it is their
choice whether to do so. The GNU General Public License gives permission
to release a modified version without this exception; this exception
also makes it possible to release a modified version which carries
forward this exception."

This text can be applied to any software module. But it is considered to
be a license change, that means that all copyright holders have to agree
on the change to make it legal.

As it is obviously clear that using of additional components covered by
the Apache License is helpful, I would like to go this way provided that
we can identify all copyright holders that means everybody who has
significantly contributed to the program.

The same considerations are valid for HotEqn.jar too.

Do you know who are all those people and whether all of them are still
alive and may be contacted?

Best regards, Dimitry
