Hi, coming late and being fast (last straight line before our house move ;-) ):
- having such a strange copyright is evil, the guys at Debian look for this and I get on the fingers (was the case with SimplyHTML if you remember, also an example file from Sun). - removing the copyright is also evil, as Ray pointed. - you could say that Nick did put the code himself in his article _without_ the copyright, but you don't know if he had the right to remove the copyright from his article. I would contact Nick Stephen and ask him for clarification, i.e. to which "license terms" the copyright is referring to, explaining that such a sentence could become a problem within Debian.
