I also think this is worth doing, if it can be done safely. If not, it's probably best to wait. I think reviewing the code is a good idea. As Dan has said, it's a usability issue, so it will make users that much more comfortable using FreeMind, but it's not going to make or break the release.

As for the word "toggle," most native English speakers are familiar with this word. It just means something that turns things on and off, for example, a toggle switch.
