Hello Chris,

unless I have overlooked something, there is no way to set the default
font size and the default font family of notes, as contrasted to
nodes.

The font defaults of the notes are different from the font defaults of
nodes, which I find surprising. I would expect that the default font
of notes would be the same as the default font of nodes.

Also, as it now stands, the default font of nodes is a sans serif one,
while the default font of the notes is a serif one. I find that
surprising too, on the assumption that a sans serif font is generally
more readable on a computer screen than a serif one.

Users have expresses their wish that the font of the notes was larger
or adjustable several times. Some said that the default font of the
note is too small. Some cases that I have found:

One solution would be to introduce dedicated font defaults for notes
in the "freemind.properties" file, alongside those of for nodes. A
downside to it is that adding these settings not only to the
"freemind.properties" file but also the FreeMind preferences dialog
would require introducing new strings to be translated, which is not
exactly perfect now that requests for translations have been sent.

Another solution, one that I would probably recommend, is to let the
notes be formatted using the default font of nodes, instead of using
the serif font that they currently use.

Thank you for considering this issue.

Best regards,
Dan
