Dear All,

My apologies if this is documented elsewhere but I have a little
question (and this is NOT flamebait - honest).

Is the aim of the project to provide a means of running a guest OS on a
host OS, providing the guest with a display, user io, storage etc. or is
it the previous plus the provision of direct access to onboard devices
where they exist?

For myself, I can see the point of allowing direct access where there
are no host drivers or where the host drivers are inferior to those of
the guest but with the detrimental performance involved in the various
context switching and also the technical issues involved (interrupt
latency amongst them) is it worth the effort?

It's like one of the points raised in the parallel thread about do we
provide the port or the printer. Should we provide the serial port or
the modem?

Just wondered.

Bryan
