I don't know about the idea that self-modifying code is brain-dead.........
my dad's first & best custom bootloader/bootstrapper was self modifying and
worked great!!!

This doesn't work with self modifying code (yes, that's a bit
braindead to write self mod code, but possible...).

Source code is the exactes doc, right. But there was a bunch
of other ideas not yet in code or rejected I'd like to discuss.
