this is what the logfile says:

Sat Jun 30 14:26:25 2001 : Error: Authentication-Request sent to a non-authentication 
port from client 206.48.128.252:1406 - ID 249 : IGNORED

(how would the daemon see it if it came to that port, i dont know)
