>From the RADIUS accounting RFC (2866):

Acct-Session-Id:

"This attribute is a unique Accounting ID to make it easy to match start and
stop records in a log file. The start and stop records for a given session
MUST have the same Acct-Sessiop-Id. An Accounting-Request packet MUST have
an Acct-Session-Id.  An Access-Request packet MAY have an Acct-Session-Id;
if it does, then the NAS MUST use the same Acct-Session-Id in the
Accounting-Request packets for that session."

The word "MUST" is capitalized, which means it is a requirement to be RFC
compliant. If this is not true for your Nortel-box, it is not RFC
compliant. It's hard to do accounting that way.

Subject: Problem with Nortel Router - ASN

We are testing to provide ISDN access to customer through our Nortel (Bay )
Networks - Access Stack Node as the NAS and radius is Freeradius.
The problem we are facing is that the authentication is proper, but the
accounting is not possible.
The session id is also coming different with the Start and Stop session
incrementing by 1.
Because of this we are not able to do the accounting.

Pls. give your suggestions.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Sunil
