Alan,

Ok I got it to work....

I needed to add -ldl to the linker. It seems that I have needed to do
this a lot on my redhat 7.1 box. Any ideas why configure didn't sort
this out for me, or is it how I have my redhat machine setup?

thanks again,

schu
