Authentication problem!!

Hi all,   I have been working on radius authentication stuff for some time .I have some problems which I’ll like to clarify and  hope u might help me out on this .    Can any one tell me --am acting as a proxy and am adding a proxy state attribute to the access request message and then am generating the authenticator using server shared secret key. Every time am getting the access reject message from the server . Whereas in case of accounting same is working fine . Is there any difference between accounting authentication and access request one.   Secondly m receiving messages from client I want to decrypt the password and then encrypt password with server shared key what are the different possible algorithms for doing this .   Thanx , Vijay
