I just started working again on my problem with LDAP and rlm_ldap. I have finally figured out why rlm_ldap.c doesn't compile!
The Makefile generated by autoconf doesn't assign a value to TARGET. TARGET should be set equal to rlm_ldap. Once I manually edited the makefile, voila, it worked. Did generate some bugs, though. I suspect the LDAP module expects to use OPENLDAP 2.0 and I am not using 2.0...
