Is it necessary if your Mysql box has a password and only
the clients are in the host access list to encrypt username
passwords?

I have about 5k users, what would be the performance hit
be if I choose to crypt the passwords for not?
We average about 7 to 12 auths per second. Right now,
we are still using the /etc/passwd and Livingston's 2.01 but
we are working hard to convert all users to freeradius.

Thanks in advance
