You can't use OpenLDAP 1. I had many many problems using 1.2.11.
Upgrading to the current stable release of OpenLDAP 2 (2.0.21) basically
solved every single problem I had.

There are references within rlm_ldap to a bunch of constants, etc. that do not
exist within 1.2.* and even after commenting out the references that I thought
were irrelevant I still had tons of problems.
