I apologize for the long message yesterday, after clearing the mind and thinking a bit more I have realized that my problem is different and hopefully someone can aid me in this.
I am running freeradius v0.7 on a redhat 7.3 box. I have a realm that auths locally called traderscreek.com, with the users stored in the password file. By logging in with just the user name "smaugy" or "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" I can successfully authenticate. But here is the rub....I have a Default entry in the users file that keys off of the group the user is part of...ie. all users are part of either group email or group ppp. The problem is that when they dial in and don't append the domain to their username, freeradius finds the match in the users file for the "DEFAULT Group == "ppp", Auth-Type := System" and authenticates correctly. But if the user includes the domain name, ie. "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" the group match doesn't happen and no ppp session is setup via the users file. It seems that the domain is stripped for password authentication but not when the group should be checked. Can anyone point me in the right direction to resolve this?? This works just fine under Cistron Radius. ----------------------------------------------- "I have not failed.
