As Alan advised, I tried CVS snapshot, took 3 changed files (rlm_sql.c, sql.c, sql_oracle.c) and compiled them.
I left in file 'sql.conf' only 1 SQL query 'authorize_check_query' and obtained the improvement performance on following PC:

OS              SunOS 5.8 (Solaris 8)
PC              Sun Ultra 80
CPU             450-MHz UltraSPARC-II x 2
RAM             1024 MB

authentications per second      244     (there was 222)
CPU usage in %          10      (there was 13)

Only Steel-Belted RADIUS has the same performance. But it costs $4,000. Feel the difference     ;-)
