Sorry to be restarting this thread, but I never got any response to it, and I'm pretty lost. To recap, since we upgraded our NAS OS (CVX OS 4.2 Bld#4948) the radwtmp db contains no IPs. The IPs are being logged in the detail file, but not radwtmp. I've searched through all the documentation I can find and looked at the freeradius rlm_unix.c file, but my C skills are nil. If anyone has any ideas, even a hint or glimmer, I'd sure appreciate it. We're running a free dialup service, nocharge.com, where all users log in as "guest", so without the IPs in radwtmp, we have no way of tracing the occasional malefactor, which makes me feel very uneasy.
I just tried "strings" on one of the old radwtmp files, one that was correctly logging the IPs, and compared it with the new radwtmp files, and noticed that besides the missing IPs, there's also another missing line. The new files show output like this: 17044748:x2 eldredge Whereas the old ones had: 17043989:x2 emeraldechidna 64.40.51.74 @(3J Any ideas?
