What suggests that we have the time either? I think that it would be a good time for you right now to make the time to learn RPM if it's the foundation for a package system you are devising. Whilst I indeed think your request is fair to a point - suggesting that we might have more time to create an RPM than you is going a little far. If I'm not mistaken, whipping together a specific binary package for a platform that is "given" i.e. RH7.2, should not be hard, but you will have to compile from source whatever happens. RPM packages are little more than a tarball with an index as to where each file needs to be installed, and a few checksums.
