That turned out to be the clue to the cause.  However, the mysql-devel
files were not loaded on the machine.  Once I did that the drivers
compiler found everything it need on its own.

Okay so I got the radius to speak MySql.  WHen it starts up (with the -x
options ;-) ) it shows it is making a connection to the mysql.  I did a
radtest of an actual account which is configured on the unix machine. 
It found it and passed an acceptance.

However, when I sent it a bogus accountname (test) I was ecpecting it to
go check the mysql server.......it never did...never tried.

Someone said I needed to put sql in the authorize section of the conf,
then someelse said no, not anymore........I am still reading so I
probally get to the answer soon.
