Thanks, but what I'm trying to accomplish is the following:

For example, say my mySql db crashes and I need an hour or two to fix it,
how can I just allow any user who attempts dialing in to authenticate until
I get the auth db back in service?

  No, you can do:

bob    Auth-Type := Accept

  to accept the user without doing password checks.
