I just figured this out and thought some others might benefit from it! Here is how you dump database(s) on one server into a database on another server!
mysqldump --opt -a LOCALDBNAME [LOCALTABLE1 [LOCALTABLE2]] -u USER -pPASSWORD | mysql --host=REMOTEHOST REMOTEDBNAME -u USER -pPASSWORD See man mysqldump and man mysql for further options! I am going to use this for periodic updates from the main mysql server to the backup mysql server. Much simpler than dumping the database on the main server, ftp/scping it to the backup server, then inserting it into the backup db. Enjoy!
