I personally like Alan's frank and blunt responses.  If I'm the one looking
for an answer and he or someone else has already answered it and made the
information available but I haven't found it yet, that's not Alan's fault.
It's mine.

Of course, if the answer was documented but not bundled with the source or
on the web then shame on Alan.  I'll bet he'll even take the abuse if that
were the case and then he'd rectify it.
