I'm using freeradius-0.8.1, on redhat 8, to do 802.1x authentication for an HP 2650 switch.
In order to get the switch to dynamically assign the vlan for the user after authentication, I had to modify the type of the Tunnel-Private-Group-Id to be a string instead of an Integer.
#ATTRIBUTE Tunnel-Private-Group-Id 81 integer has_tag ATTRIBUTE Tunnel-Private-Group-Id 81 string has_tag
Only after I did that would the switch use the attribute to set the port's VLAN assignment.
