About performance it's better. Much better...
I made a benchmark some time ago with one radius server doing
authentification/autorization against 2 LDAP servers and Accounting in a
log file, many clients bombing it and I found this results:
Auth+Autz per second Acc per second
Radiator 50 100
Freeradius 260 450
Openradius 210 300
Benchmarks mean nothing but they can give an idea ;)
