Will fail over work on an unpatched, un-CVS'ed updated 0.8.1 build? If not, what would be the minimum source revision I would need?
Fail over will work on 0.8.1...the round robin code, however, is not present.
One note though, until recently there was a starvation issue that needs to be considered. For example, if you have two entries for a realm in proxy.conf and both get marked dead then there will be a period (dead_time in proxy.conf) where all requests to said realm will get dropped to the floor.
Is there any feedback on round robin using a 0.9 build? Is it successful?
It is 100% functional in 0.9-pre...if it has been untouched then it will still work.
However, as before, there is still the starvation issue. I can't remember when the patch was submitted, but a 'wake_all_if_all_dead' flag was added as an option to proxy.conf to deal with that.
