Not sure I got it about the arbitrary pairs but I agree about simulating files with sql db.
Accounting is activated through mysql, what I want is to limit user throughput at a specified (default) value somewhere in the rad config or sql db, and les the BBSM do the actual limitation.

Now, is there a way to manage bandwidth per user through freeradius ? There is a CBBSM-Bandwidth attribute but how to use it since user data is stored on the sql db and not in files. BBSM could eventually manage bw but it's not what I want.
What does hinder you to store arbitary response pairs in a sql
database? Anything that works with users file can be simulated with
an sql db...
cisco.com should have some documentation about bandwidth management
via aaa.
