I see that there has been some work done with the postgres sql file, the main difference between the new one and the one I setup was that I used 'text' instead of 'varchar(x)' because it is faster.
Is there a document that explains how to update the config file to get the sql authentication to work?
If so where ist it?
If not can someone let me know how to set it up.

Like Tim, I had no problems at all with auth'ing of rlm_sql (or to be more precise, the postgresql version of), apart from the -HUP problem I've been experiencing.
Worked for me perfectly out of the box after changing nothing but config files.
