  Then you didn't edit the file the server is using.  There is NOTHING
in the server which sets 'Auth-Type' to 'System', other than the
configuration files.


Here is a test users

steve  Auth-Type := Local, User-Password == "testing"
       Service-Type = Framed-User,
       Framed-Protocol = PPP,
       Framed-IP-Address = 172.16.3.33,
       Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
       Framed-Routing = Broadcast-Listen,
       Framed-Filter-Id = "std.ppp",
       Framed-MTU = 1500,
       Framed-Compression = Van-Jacobsen-TCP-IP
and i still get,

        User-Name = "steve"
        User-Password = "testing"

        NAS-Port = 0

  modcall[authorize]: module "mschap" returns noop
modcall: group authorize returns ok
  rad_check_password:  Found Auth-Type System
auth: type "System"
modcall: entering group authenticate
  modcall[authenticate]: module "unix" returns notfound
modcall: group authenticate returns notfound
auth: Failed to validate the user.
I have looked but can not find where to change the auth type in 
radiusd.conf is there some where else I should be looking?
