Hi all. I am trying to determine if I can/should use Freeradius (version0.9.1) given my particular setup. I'm _not_ looking for detailed instructions on how to do this at this point, but if a generous soul wants to provide them, I will not turn them away.
I will be using CHAP, but need to have Freeradius talk to two separate databases, one for authenticating the user and one for authorizing the user. The authentication database has a proprietary HTTPS interface that I expect I'll have to write a module for. The authorization database is a MySQL database that should plug in nicely. But my main question is, can I configure Freeradius to do the authentication (you are who you say you are) against the first database, and then if successful, do the authorization (this is what you have access to) against the second? If this is possible, was Freeradius designed for just this type of thing, or will I need to hack it in? Finally, if it is possible, how much work is involved? I know that's a hard question to answer.
