Ah, great.

I just changed /usr/local/etc/raddb/sql.conf's 
sql_user_name = "%{User-Name}" to
to sql_user_name = "%{Stripped-User-Name:-%{User-Name:-DEFAULT}}"
and it worked like a charm.
