Hello List,
With the help of Ross (and others), I was able to get the FreeRadius
server to supply a client with a static IP address, while the other dsl
clients received their addresses through an ip pool on the Cisco 2621.
I'm now faced with a variation of the same dilemma, and ask your advice.
I am now supposed to give a DSL client 2 static IP's (on the same pvc).
So, I'm thinking I'll setup the profile in the ./users file just as the
former static client, except with a couple of exceptions.
#Working Single IP 'users' profile
JackyNack Auth-Type := System, Huntgroup-Name == "static1"
Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-IP-Address = 192.168.0.15,
Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.255,
Framed-Routing = Broadcast-Listen,
Framed-MTU = 1500
#Proposed Dual-IP 'users' profile
SmackWacky Auth-Type := System, Huntgroup-Name == "static2"
Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-IP-Address == 192.168.0.20+,
Framed-IP-Netmask == 255.255.255.254,
Framed-Routing = Broadcast-Listen,
Framed-MTU = 1500
Obviously, the Framed-IP-Address of 192.168.0.20+ tells FreeRadius that
this is the start of a range of IP addresses... And, I'm hoping that the
netmask of 255.255.255.254, since listed under Framed-IP-Netmask (as
opposed to Framed-IP-Adress) will simply play against the
Framed-IP-Address...and end up allotting the client the IP addresses of
192.168.0.20...and...192.168.0.21 .
If this looks sound, could you please let me know. Likewise, if anyone
has experience with a similar scenario, I covet your input.
Thanks Again,
D. Paul Sparks
