Hiya
Since upgrading to the CVS version of 0.9.1 of FreeRADIUS we have experienced
intermittent problems which cause the freeRADIUS daemon to go into a CPU spin and stop
working. Logging also stops.

>From the logs and looking at cron jobs it seems that freeradius doesn't like sharing
>the mysql db, it runs happily for a few days but then spins out eventually when
>another process (such as a db dump) kicks in. The logs show lots of unresponsive
>child processes and then a MySQL error, and then a few more lines saying
>'establishing connection number #xx' before the log stops.

The only thing that has changed is the freeradius daemon, with the 0.9.0 code this
never happened dispite the same db processes being fired off, and infact doesn't
happen on our other server which we have left running 0.9.0. Only since the change to
0.9.1 (cvs) has this problem occured.

Any suggestions? or places to look?

could there be something left over in the sql.conf from 0.9.0 that is causing this?

it seems to be after x number of db using processes have ran this happens, I think the
4th time triggers this behaviour.
