since freeRADIUS is not failing this is probably the wrong list to ask this question.
It's either XP or the AP that is failing.

You don;t get IP on the client unless it is authenticated.

Did you try the xp update for wpa:

Subject: xp client : wireless network unavailable.

ok folks;
i am sensing that i am really close to having a
running wireless system. however i am still having
some problems.

first ;
freeradius seems OK.
hostAP also seems OK.
the XP client doesn't connect to the internet via the
access point. the logs of the Authentication server
and Access point are both identical with the ones in
the installation guides.
i couldn't figure it out.. the freeradius is sending
access-accept packets. how could the server send this
packet and the client is still not authenticated.?
how could the access point assign the client an IP? (
if not statically assigned)

some help will be great..thanks people.
