This is our current code, yes.

Eduardo and I have moved focus to performance optimization since this
has been a blocker for some customers of us and so it has higher
priority against smart card work. He is porting X11 frontend to use
XCB and then will focus on getting the rid of useless calls to get
better drawing performance on slow machines.

We are on holidays right now and we ought to come back to this
starting at 3rd of January.
