Hi,
We have a lot of problems connecting to 2008 R2 Brooker too. I have
setup a debug mechanism in the Linux HP thin clients for logging me the
stdout and stderr with xfreerdp compiled with debug enable.
And I have seen a lot of this in the logs, when session freezes when
trying to logon:

I don't know what this is about, but seems like something it's missing
in PDU's implementation. We have some Laptop's with Windows XP and
Windows Vista, connecting to the same farm, and everything works very good.
Does anyone knows what this is about?

Or if a developer/debugger is keen on looking deeper into this.
I can set up an test account for accessing our servers and doing a test.
This is an issue for us since we can't use our thin clients that are
running on linux just because of this failure we have to buy windows
based thin clients :(
