Hello FreeRDP developers,

I think it is time to start thinking about the next release, FreeRDP 0.9. As
you already know, this release not only brings a couple of very interesting
features, but it is also our first official release under the Apache
license. The license change is the number one reason why 0.9 isn't out yet.
Since we got the results from the Black Duck IP assessment, there shouldn't
be much left to prevent us from finally completing the license change. I
sent emails in both freerdp-devel and rdesktop-devel regarding the Black
Duck IP assessment results, with nothing alarming coming up. Still, it is
preferable to wait, especially since Peter Astrand will only be back on June
20th, and I think we should be expecting a comment from him.

It's not like previous releases of FreeRDP didn't take a while to prepare
either :P Let's work on fixing all those bugs that have been left as-is for
while, let's work on refactoring and improving the quality of the code base.
Let's do all those things we put on hold for a while. I started with a first
round of refactoring and improvements. On my todo list would be to get the
unicode uppercasing working, along with further improvements to the
structure of the source tree.

Please reply with tasks you think should be done before 0.9. My first round
of refactoring addresses multiple issues that had been discussed a while ago
but that I hadn't addressed yet.

I think 0.9 will be our best release so far :) I can't wait to see what 1.0
will look like, hehe.

Best regards,
- Marc-Andre
