I happen to consider something similar, but after cursory looking over 
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc248485.aspx , I'm not so sure 
anymore about this approach. It's definitely not a proxy of the usual kind.
Marc-André did a fantastic job by implementing all the details, that are 
necessary to get this going, but be assured, that implementing the server part 
is going to be ambitious. 

I see some use of implementing a lightweight gateway service running directly 
on the typical linux firewall, which would allow to mandate, which users are 
allowed to use this service.
