Hi Scott, this is actually a virtual system. I've had no problems
loading a full install of freebsd 5.3 on it, and actually, I created the
freesbie iso on that virtual system. Do you think that this might be
the problem?

Hello!
I have heard of others with similar problems. If this is an IDE
system can you try swapping the primary and secondary interfaces?
