Now I understand you. You just need Dario and Dave to come up with a version of FreeSBIE that can be downloaded in a few minutes, yes? I am sure they will not do that, since they already made the scripts for you to enable you do what you want to achieve. You see the point of this thread? They want people to suggest apps to be added to the iso, not to be removed to make the size of the iso smaller ;) > > > And why not a DVD with everything in ? :) > > > > Again, we need to look at the project's goals ;) > > Which are... where? You mean Somewhere on the project's page on the web! I am sure no project is run without defining the goals, so there must be some either on the website or in Dario's mind, if they have not been written down, but it is here: http://www.freesbie.org/?section=faq-en There is the Hungarian hacker, gabor at suveg dot hu, who made an iso which was just 300MB. Perhaps if you make it worth someone's time, they can come up with an ISO that matches what you want. but please define that ISO's contents - what applications you think should be in it that would make it any useful for your needs. > > With FreeSBIE you will be able to surf the Internet, to have a nice > > multimedia experience, to meet your friends with cool chat programs and > > to evaluate a real FreeBSD system without the pain to install it. > > ? Then why, for example, was bacula in 1.1? The last line you read from the OP was "to evaluate a real FreeBSD system without the pain to install it", so I believe someone wanted bacula for that purpose. The point is, whatever we can fit on the ISO image will be fitted in there is there are no ugly apps associated with it that we do not want. Kindly read Dario's initial mail that led to this thread. cheers - wash +----------------------------------+-----------------------------------------+ Odhiambo Washington .
