Ok, how about getting the file /etc/resolv.conf to show up in the image?
I am creating the file in /usr/local/livefs/etc/resolv.conf
then when I create the image file it does not show up in my iso.
What am I missing?

this should work:
chroot $BASEDIR
passwd
exit (from chroot)
