G'day,
Markus I'm also working on building a FreeBSD server which diskless
clients can PXE-Boot to, but I'm having no luck, here are all my notes:

You might find some clues, but then again you might find I'm doing
something wrong. If you can give me any pointers please do. I think what
your doing is great.
When your finished will you be able to select install to hard drive from
the live cd? And will it be all configured for a PXE-Boot server?

Hi!
At the moment I am working on the PXE NetBoot Server for the Summer
of Code 2006. Because BSDInstaller already has such one included, my
first step is to get BSDInstaller II (lua backend) working with
FreeSBIE II (and cleary the NetBoot Server).
Are your files available only on perforce or also outside? It would be
great to have something to test so we can give more accurate
feedback. If you want to share ISO images, I can give you access to
For the moment it doesn't make sense to test, because BSDInstaller
won't totally install a whole system. NetBoot Server is up and running
and you can start BSDInstaller from the "second" machine booted via
PXE. You can also start the installation, but I still get a lua-error
when it tries to copy all files from the source to the harddisk. So at
the moment my ISO can be seen as broken-alpha-state. :-)
Hopefully I get these things fixed the next days, I am working
fulltime on the project. If you want, clearly you can have a look at
the source files. It's not that I want to hide is, it's only that I
know it is still broken beside the bugs.
Cheers
Markus
