I got bored.

I sent Al Lowe an e-mail.

He wrote back.

This is the message (I was really bored...).

Would anyone be interested in getting in contact with Bob Heitman
just for general questions and answers on SCI? Nothing really
specific mind you. He's actually programming GameBoys now :) -
he works for TranSolar, and he's being contraced out, as is Corey
Cole :)

Cheers

Ian (You can tell Al doesn't have word wrap on his e-mail client...)

The main designer was Jeff Stephenson. Bob Heitman was a major contributor. Chris Iden
and many others also helped. Look at the credits on any of the early SCI games.
"System Programmers" means "the guys who created SCI." The ones on the most games
contributed the most.

AGI was also Jeff's baby. When it started, there were many on the team, but it
narrowed down to Jeff and Bob and a few others.

The tools started out terrible and worked their way up to bad over the years (compared
to Photoshop, 3d studio, etc.). For their time, they were remarkable!

Hi Al

Congratulations on your hard work and dedication to us adventure
game fans, and I feel quite awful about what happened last year
with Sierra.

However, I'm writing to ask you about SCI - just any things you
remember about it, who were the main designers and everything.

I'm not asking about engine specifications - just your personal
memories about it (and AGI if you still remember back that far... or
if you actually want to remember back that far), what you liked and
disliked, how hard it was to use the developer's tools.

You've probably already been contacted by other interested in SCI -
I guess we're all from the same batch, the guys working with and
interested with FreeSCI. If you don't know anything about them, I'd
be happy to give you some info - but you're probably way to busy
to check out reverse-engineering stuff like that.

Hope for all the best for you.

Ian
