when i wrote sarien i tried to keep it as portable as possible
and for the most part everything seemd fine, going from its
initial dos base to claudio's X port and beyond to acorn and mac.

Mac seemed to have some difficulty reported in file handling.
Not entirely sure, but somehting to do with mac and ansi/libc FILE*
stuff (fopen, fread, etc)...

if you abstract enough, portability is a breeze.
