Hi,

Good news, everyone- we've got a very special delivery today:

FreeSCI 0.3.0 has just been put on linuxgames.com's ftp servers and is
available for download.
Please note that we have separate source trees for the *NIX and the DOS
version; also, there are binaries for Win32 and DOS available. Both trees
will probably require minor modifications to build with Visual C++; those
should be fixed for the development snapshots now, though (thanks to
Dmitry's recent updates).

FreeSCI 0.3.0 features all kernel functions supported by SCI0, except for
some debug functions (which we provide alternatives to with our own
built-in debugger). This means that, in theory, SCI0 games should be fully
playable with FreeSCI 0.3.0. There are known graphical problems, though; a
new design of the graphics subsystem should take care of them (one of the
two major things to do during the 0.3.x development phase).

FreeSCI 0.3.0 should work on
ia32/Linux
ia32/DOS
ia32/Win32
sparc/Solaris
mips/IRIX (native cc, glx target)

Other unices and hardware architectures might work as well, if they
support glib and libpng, plus at least one of glx and ggi.

We can now focus our efforts on adding sound support, improving the
graphics subsystem (which is in urgent need of repair), and, of course,
fixing any bugs we come across.

(Personally, I'll be working on the graphics subsystem; I'm hoping to put
up a revised version of the new headers as soon as possible).

Thanks to everyone who helped with the project so far! FreeSCI already has
quite a bunch of major and minor contributors, and I wouldn't mind seeing
this list grow further :-)

llap,
 Christoph
