Hi!
I received the following bug report from the Debian autobuilder for the
alpha and arm architectures. I don't know if arm is even supposed to work, but
could you please check it out? I am aware that the version is quite old
(cvs 12 dec 2000), so if this is fixed in a new version, please let me
know.

Please investigate.
As this is a "cannot build from source" error, it is marked "serious".
At least on arm the build failed with the same error, as can be seen
