Hi,

As many of you may be aware of, the FreeSCI binary executable is called
'sciv' right now. This is somewhat unconventional, since the package name
is generally expected to be identical to or a prefix of the executable's
name. At least this is my impression.

Now that FreeSCI is being shipped with one or two Linux distributions
and FreeBSD, we should make sure that people don't have to dig too deeply
to find out how to run the games.
My suggestion would therefore be to rename 'sciv' to 'freesci', and to
name Rune's config file editor 'freesci-config'. These names are both
intuitive and easy to find with tab (or double escape) name expansion, as
provided by most command shells. For compatibility, we could include a
'sciv' shell script which starts 'freesci $@' and prints a warning message
before and after the interpreter is run.

Since this is a usability issue which can probably be judged more easily
by people who aren't used to thinking of the interpreter as the 'sciv
binary', I'd be interested in other peoples' opinions about this.

llap,
 Christoph
