I have the same impression

I would vote for something a little different as -config is now often used
for shell scripts which print out development information, such as
compilation flags (e.g. gtk-config gnome-config xmms-config esd-config).
This new emerging standard might conflict with freesci-config (though how
often one might want to compile something with a libfreesci, I don't know),
but more likely it might conflict with peoples expectations of what
freesci-config does. freesci_config, should, perhaps, avoid that, as would
freesciconf and freesci_conf.
Just some thoughts.
