Wrong.  All SysEx messages are passed through to midiout.

There are no sysex messages in normal song data; however the songserver
will tell the mididevice to send special data (usually sysex) when it
encounters special song data (like reverb params, etc)

Note this only really applies if you're using a mt-32, though we could
coneveivably be using GM/GS 'standard' sysex messages as well.
