Hey all -

While sound is still a little on the buggy end for win32, here is a full
report.

(with a few other issues addressed)

Space Quest 3 -
Settings: Win32e, mt32 (or bust), software synth -

Heh. Ok - music notes don't quite line up still. Main theme should go
<ahem>:

Dum Dum Dum da da da dummmmmm.. da da da dummm da da da dummm du du du
dummmmm.

I believe those da da da (and du du du) are triplets. It kinda sounds like
the

songs are being rushed and then slowed down on the chords (i.e. dummmmmmm).

Inconsistant, however the sound is THERE and full!

In other good news - those settings mentioned above on my Pentium III 700
ran

freesci at 10%-12% cpu usage and kicked up to 12%-14% when I was moving
Roger

around while the music was playing. Very nice!

Settings: Win32e, mt32 (or bust), hardware synth(s) -

Wavetable daughtercard - 11% when "idle" & peaking around 14% when Roger
walks.

Santa Cruz synth - 8%-9% idle (Yeah!) and 15% when walking and constantly
pounding

the directional keys.

Settings: Win32p (for fun), mt32, all synths -
constant "firing sound" in the background. Very loud. Hard to hear it, but
the

sound is going on behind it. Can't really give a report on how it goes
though

because of that noise.

OK

Conquests of Camelot -

Settings: Win32e, mt32 (or bust), software synth -

Wow! What a treat! Again - music still not on the beat....but I am pretty
sure ALL

notes played. No notes were dropped, and (therefore) for the first time I
could

hear the "courtyard" song (at the beginning) without any notes dropping.

....Cpu usage at one point was ....1%? Hehehe. No notes dropping, of course.

Settings: Win32e, mt32 (or bust), hardware synth -

Hmm. Daughtercard sounded pretty good. Some notes went out of tune (?) when
playing

in the courtyard.

Santa Cruz synth dropped notes. Hmmmm...weird.

Too lazy for CPU report. Seems to be good anyway.

mt32gm still silent.

Thanks guys!
Chris
